While the cost of living in the State of Wyoming as a whole is above average when compared to the United States, it has been falling in recent months. Currently Wyoming ranks as the 23 most expensive state in the union. On average, it costs about 1.5% more to live in Wyoming than the rest of the United States. Housing costs about 6.5% more. Wyoming's neighboring states, Colorado and Montana, both have higher costs of living.
